By chance, the body of a young woman is found slain, seconds before she disappears forever in the flames of a large incinerator. 'Apparently, the perfect murder' say Thomas and Katrine to the murderer. A murderer without conscience who is planning his own death down to the smallest detail and is not afraid to play a cat and mouse game with the police.
At the same time Katrina is meeting a charming man who seems to be the perfect boyfriend for her - if he were not married. The relationship develops quickly and much more seriously than she had anticipated, but he appears to carry around more secrets under the facade than she ever could imagine...
